Tonya Saffer, leads public policy, reimbursement strategy and tactical execution at Outset Medical. Tonya is also responsible for developing alliances across multiple stakeholders to identify best practices, centers of excellence, and advance better kidney care models for patients.

 

Tonya has spent over 16 years in health policy focused on chronic kidney disease. Her previous roles include Vice President, Health Policy at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Reimbursement and Product Commercialization at Avalere Health, Dialysis Patient Citizens, and DaVita, Inc. Tonya serves on the Board of Directors for Home Dialyzors United. She also volunteers as a call specialist for Everymind, which provides mental health and crisis intervention services, including response to the National 988 suicide and crisis Lifeline. From 2013-2019, Tonya was appointed by the County Executive to serve her local community as an adviser on the Montgomery County, MD Commission on Health.

 

Tonya earned a M.P.H. in Health Policy from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Arizona State University. Tonya was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area and currently resides in Silver Spring, MD with her husband and their son.
