John R. B. Bayton

Director

John Bayton is an accomplished project and marketing professional. Diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in 2003, John Bayton has undergone two transplants, with his most recent on February 27, 2019, at MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute. John has experience with every modality of ESRD treatment including In-Center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, nocturnal dialysis, and home hemodialysis.

His experience with kidney disease inspired him to become a patient advocate for the kidney community. Due to his experience with ESRD, John is truly able to speak to the patient's experience.

John is an ambassador and subject matter expert (SME) for the American Kidney Fund (AKF), and the American Association for Kidney Patients (AAKP). He currently serves as a member and SME for ESRD Network 5 Patient Advisory Committee (PAC) and the ESRD National Coordinating Council (NCC) National Patient and Family Engagement Learning and Action Network (NPFE-LAN). John is also a member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) Transplant Community Advisory Council (TCAC). John is also a frequent panelist and guest speaker on matters related to ESRD, dialysis, and transplantation.

John attended Washington and Lee University, in Lexington, VA, and majored in political science and technical theater. John is the Director of Development for Proust Partners LLC and specializes in marketing, event planning, and strategic business development. He is very involved in the District of Columbia’s events and restaurant industry. John is a passionate advocate for social change, and keen on addressing the disparities that exist in our society.
